The heating rate of the fast bottle warmer is an important indicator

For a good comparison, we heated the same bottle with 150 milliliters of room temperature liquid to 37 degrees each time. A measuring device with an immersion sensor was used to record the temperature. If the model has a thermostat, we have checked whether the displayed temperature is correct. Devices with an automatic switch-off had to prove that they had actually reached the desired temperature.

Another important criterion in the test is the operation. Most devices cannot be operated intuitively, we first had to go through the operating instructions. We assessed how easy it was to understand the manufacturer's instructions and whether the devices were easy to use.

As a final criterion, we tested the capacity and compatibility with common bottles and baby food jars.

What should you look for in a bottle warmer?

When deciding on a bottle warmer, you should think about what and when you want to use the device. Especially in the first months of life, babies have a very frequent drinking rhythm - often at night too. When you have to get up at night because of a crying baby, every second is precious. A quick bottle warmer with steam like the Nuk Thermo Express is worth gold in this regard. If you want to freeze and store expressed breast milk, you should choose a device with a defrost function. In addition, the heating process with steam is not well suited, as the sensitive breast milk becomes too hot so quickly.
